About a day blog

In the past few years, Weblogs have been taking the Internet by storm and transforming the way readers view websites. Instead of just viewing what someone has written, readers can now add their own opinions and facts in the form of a comment to the entry. Every comment is posted for other readers and the authors to view. a day blog feels that the interaction between the readers and authors is what truly creates a solid and worthwhile website.

Here at a day blog, we like to call our blogging experience “Community Blogging”. We have taken multiple topic-based weblogs and have combined them to make a portal that shows every topic’s daily post. We strive to have an entry for you each and every day in each topic that we have in our community.

Topics

To start the community, a day blog selected four topics to write about. These topics are Deal, Map, Site, and Song. After 2 years of writing on these topics, 4 new topics were added to the community. The new topics are News, Podcast, Sports, and Video. A brief description of each topic is given below. Every weekday, an article will be written. Sometimes we will feel motivated and write more than 1 post, and other days we will be lazy and skip writing.

Many new topic ideas keep popping up, and even though many are great topics, we cannot add all of them. As time goes by, more topics will be added. These will be selected by the interest of the readers on the site-- so if you have an idea for a topic, please let us know.

DEAL a day blog - Deals will be found on the Internet or at a store and will be posted with directions of how to get the deal (coupon codes, rebates, or just a happy smile). Links to the manufacturer will also be given to help describe the product.

MAP a day blog - A link will be posted to a specific zoomed-in map image from Google Maps. This map image will range from national monuments, sports stadiums, to map spots that are just cool to look at.

NEWS a day blog - News articles that are of interest on the day they are posted will be placed in this topic. If a link is applicable, it will be given with the post.

PODCAST a day blog - A podcast will be discussed in general or as detailed as needed for the post. This topic will talk about podcasts in general or discussions found on a specific episode of a podcast.

SITE a day blog - Websites will be found on the Internet that has sparked some interest. To keep this topic interesting, websites for the daily post will be selected for any reason from an awesome layout to interesting content.

SONG a day blog - Songs will be chosen and discussed from almost every style of music and written about. We are no expert on music, so we will be writing about what we like or don't like about each song. It is just our opinions, and since you are reading what we think, leave a comment so we can read what you think!

SPORTS a day blog - Sports discussions, sport news, and upcoming sporting events will be fill this topic with posts. With so many sporting events going on year round around the world, this topic will see a lot of new articles!

VIDEO a day blog - Videos found on the Internet will be discussed in this topic. A link will be given to the video in the article so everyone will be able to view it.

The Latest Links

One of the newest additions to a day blog is The Latest Links section. This section has been made to quickly post about links that we and our readers find interesting. The most recent of these links (and a short description of the link) will be shown on the main page of the site. Past links can still be seen and will be ordered by the date they were posted on The Latest Links page. A lot of links are sent every day to use on a day blog for a specific topic, but they are not always written and posted. Now we can just add this links to this section, and not lose them forever!

Advertising

Three things keep this site up and running. The love of making content available to our readers, gallons of coffee, and money! With the first 2 years the site has been up, the monetary value has not been great. For the new design of the site, monetary sections that were previously on the site have been removed. When we feel that an appropriate location on any page of a day blog would be good for advertising, we will add it back in! If you are interested in advertising with us, please contact us.
