Inspections Force Flight Cancellations
airplane
It is great to see how tight airlines are with inspections of the planes, and how closely they are watched by the FAA. For the safety of many people that fly on those planes every day, it makes them feel more secure, and shows why statistics say that it is safer to fly in a plane than drive on our streets.

To me, the recent news seems a little odd. After inspections with the FAA, Delta and American Airlines have started to cancel hundreds of flights to inspect and fix more planes. Like I said above, I love the inspections, but why so many all at once? I would feel that inspections would be able to be done in shifts, to help reduce the number of planes that are delayed or cancelled. Also, isn't there any extra planes in reserve that can be used in place of the planes being inspected? Every time there is a flight that has been delayed or canceled, it causes the people on the plane scheduling issues (personal or for work), and it costs the airport a hefty amount of money to reschedule those people. I would just think that this would have been thought out a little better by the Airline Carriers.
