Acronym Finder
So, you are on AIM or you are checking your email, and your friend has an acronym in their message that you are not familiar with. You are probably afraid to ask what it stood for, so just go over to AcronymFinder.com and type it in the search field. This site will show the definition and usage of any normal-use acronym out there. If there is more than one meaning for an acronym (ex – LOL), AcronymFinder will show you the choices and also what context it would be used in. If you find an acronym that is not on the site already, you can submit that acronym so other people can view it. I also enjoyed the “Fun Stuff!” section that the site had. When you go to this page, you will see a new randomly generated acronym. The ones that were created when I was on the page were quite funny!

Epicurious.com
Recipes, cooking, drinking, restaurants, and so much more. Epicurious.com covers anything and everything you could imagine. It is difficult to discuss everything on the site because there is so much to share, so I will only mention a couple things that I liked about the site. First, the design of the site is beautiful. It is very easy on the eyes, and I felt that the layout and order was good for the amount of content they have. They also did a great job with searches in each area. Each search is flexible to help you search better. The site also has some great information on wine! I love wine, but am often disappointed on the lack of knowledge that is out there for wine. Epicurious.com has a great guide that everyone should review on the site called “the wine lovers companion”. Take some time and just look through Epicurious.com. You never know when you will need a little information on any or all of the topics that are discussed on the site.

Area Code Decoder
With cell phones today, everyone seems to have caller id. I know for myself, I am usually interested to know who is calling me before I answer it. There is always that number though that you have to ask your friends “where is area code ---“. Instead of asking your friends for now on, why not look it up for yourself. Area Decoder lets you do just that. All you have to do is enter an area code into the text field and click on one of the 2 buttons. I have no use to search international area codes, so I always click on the “Search USA Only” button. Everything else on the site is advertising, so I suggest you look immediately for the text field and the 2 buttons on the page when you visit.

Speech Bubble Stickers
Andy sent me this site last week. I think it is one of the most interesting ideas I have seen in a long time. This guy printed up 50,000 blank speech bubbles and posted them up on billboards, posters, advertisements, etc. in his city. He waited for people to start writing on them and then went back and took pictures of the bubbles and what was written on them. Today’s website is the collection of pictures. He has categorized the pictures to help you view your interests. To start looking through the pictures, click on the play arrow (triangle pointing to the right) on the bottom of the screen. I think this was a great idea, and really wish more people would do creative things like this to brighten up their and my day!

Rand McNally Road Construction
If you have bought a map before, you probably purchased one from Rand McNally. They make great maps to use for road trips. The only problem with them is if construction is going on somewhere on your journey. Have no fear! Rand McNally has a wonderful section on their website now to help you search for construction that will be on your trip. In major cities, this can be a horrid part of your trip not only because of the time you will wait in the construction zone, but also because you could get lost on a detour. It is best to know about these ahead of time, so go to their website when you are planning your next trip.
