The 2006 PGA Grand Slam of Golf
I know the season is coming to an end, but that doesn't mean you cannot keep practicing! Like I have said before, I am not a good golfer, but I think that the winter is a great time to go to the range and practice on your swing. If you would like something to help, Apple iTunes is offering a free instructional video right now for free. This video goes over golf strategies, tough shots, and around the green with America's director of instruction Rick Marino, 2005 PGA teacher of the year Peter Krause, and PGA professional Michael Reed. They are giving this away right now to help promote their episodes they are selling for the 2006 PGA Grand Slam of Golf. Make sure to pick up this free instructional video before they take it off of iTunes!

Little Brother - The Becoming
Today is the release of Apple's free single of the week. Since I would like to talk about something non-related today, I figured that I would post the song for everyone, and quote what Apple wrote about it. This will give me my chance to talk about my other topic...Apples single of the week is "The Becoming" by Little Brother:
The hotly tipped hip-hop crew who brought us 2003's The Listing are now back with "The Becoming" -- a track from the group's sophomore album, The Minstrel Show. The North Carolina trio excels at thick, organic beats and tough, tumbling rhymes that hit you on an emotional level. This track is our free Single of the Week.
My other discussion will be found on the
Main Page.

Wired All Wrong - Nothing at All
Umm...this week's free Single of the Week by Apple iTunes is quite unique. 2 artists named Jeff Turzo and Matt Mahaffey have combined their talents to great the group called Wired All Wrong. The single is called "Nothing at All", and its uniqueness comes from all the style changes in the instrumentals and vocals. Imagine a mix between pop, hip-hop, rock, and electronic. That is what I heard in throughout the song, and I am sure I missed a few others. Do I like the song? Yea! It's just that the song started off like something Linkin Park would have released and then switched to so many musical variances. Make sure to download this week's free song from iTunes and give it a try yourself!

Mr. Capone-E feat. Twista - Don’t Get It Twisted
It is unusual to see a familiar name for Apple's free single of the week. This week's song is not a name that I know, but it features a rap artist that is a big name. Apple's free single of the week this week is "Don't Get It Twisted" by Mr. Capone-E featuring Twista. The song is a Hip-Hop/Rap style, and really is a great song. Between the style of rap that Mr. Capone-E uses and the beat for the song, I could have sworn I was listening to a song that 2Pac wrote. It had a lot of similarities to 2Pac's music. If I had to choose my favorite part for the song, I would have to go with Twista's verse. His music always amazes me, and I really cannot think of another artist that can rap as fast as he can and still be as clear as he is. I have a good feeling that this song will be on the radio soon, so make sure you download it for free this week and have the advantage of knowing this song before all of your friends!

Lily Allen - Smile
What a great song selection by Apple this week for their free single of the week. The song they selected is called "Smile" by Lily Allen. She is a pop singer from London that reminds me a lot of Fergie. The beat has a lot of genres mixed together, but the one you can hear above the rest is reggae. I think Apple's description was perfect for this song, so I figured I would just show it here...
It's hard to figure what the best part of this track is. The dusty old reggae loop, Lily Allen's cool London drawl, or that little thing she does with her voice when the chorus comes. It's the purest of bubblegum pop, dressed in an array of 21st century gear, but just as reliant on a sweet infectious little melody and catchy rhythmic bounce as any great pop tune. Her sassiness comes out in the vocal, where she dismisses the appreciation of a cheating ex-admirer with the right amount of flippancy and vulgarity. Get this track for free today - it's one of our favorite pop tunes we've heard in ages.
Could I ask for a better description? It covers the beat, the vocals, the lyrics, and the plug to get you to download it while it is still free! I totally agree with Apple that this is one of the best pop songs I have heard in a long time, so make sure you give it a try.
